EXPERIENCE
-
While attending Belmont University, I was able to take two courses in fashion illustration, which not only honed my artistic skills but also allowed me to develop a keen eye for detail and aesthetics. This experience naturally flowed into increasing my proficiency in technical illustration, where I learned proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
-
My summer internship with The Dollhouse at Pointefoure Vintage Boutique helped me discover my passion for vintage and historical clothing curation. While interning with Pointefoure, I was able to sit in on buying appointments, price and display merchandise, and pull clothing from stock for a decades fashion show to benefit small local businesses.
-
One of the responsibilities I was tasked with at Pointefoure was social media engagement. I was able to post daily on Instagram and TikTok, creating flat lays and displaying new and vintage merchandise.
-
One of the most recent and rewarding opportunities I had was my role as a Costume Designer for "Into the Sunset," a short film directed by Patricia Smith, a fellow student at Belmont University. In this project, I was responsible for sourcing historically accurate clothing for the 1940s South, which allowed me to showcase my skills in period-appropriate costume design.
-
Another valuable opportunity that Belmont University offered me was my involvement in the large-scale production of the musical "Beauty and the Beast." As a costume assistant, my responsibilities included making minor alterations such as zipper adjustments, size modifications, and contributing to specialty costume design for whimsical elements that added a touch of magic to the show.
-
I am currently enrolled in one of my favorite classes at Belmont University, which is "Fashion Forecasting." This course is research and analysis-based, providing us with the opportunity to delve into the world of trend analysis and prediction. It allows us to tap into our own intuition while ensuring our forecasts are validated by credible sources. This class not only feeds our creativity but also equips us with the skills to make informed and accurate predictions in the ever-evolving fashion industry, making it an exciting and valuable experience.
