Animals and All-Nighters

I've never been one to go with the flow. My dad always used to say to me that I need to be like a duck and let all my problems and major life changes roll off my back like beads of water. Well, I'm not a duck, but as I've continued to explore the life I could have in a fashion career, I've learned to be more open to changes. One of the most wonderful opportunities I've had was all because of a spontaneous "yes" I said five months before I truly understood what I had gotten myself into.

I've always been interested in costuming for historic films, and I was given the chance to work on a short film at Belmont University for a fellow student's senior capstone project. The movie is titled "Into the Sunset" and is set in 1946 in rural Tennessee over the course of a few weeks, showcasing the beautiful love story of Millie and EJ. Being a part of this project was a whirlwind experience, and I'll cherish the memories and lessons I learned on this set for the rest of my life. The crew was amazing and provided valuable insights into the world of film and television.

I never would have imagined that saying "yes" to a friend five months ago would lead me to sitting outside a barn, waiting to splatter blood and adjust costumes at 4 in the morning. It has been the most exhausting and rewarding three weeks of my life, and I wouldn't trade the lack of sleep or cow jump-scares for anything.
