Internship Diaries- Moving Forward

The question of the week was “What did I do at my internship that will get me closer to my career goals?” At the REP this week, we focused on finishing the main dresses for Waitress and prepping for the photoshoot which took place on the 25th. Once we successfully outfitted the promotional shoot, we moved on to pulling and styling costumes in house for the musical. As of right now, I am very unsure of where I will end up career-wise. I was planning on going to grad school or getting an apprenticeship but life is chaotic and I’m unsure of the future. My internship is offering a lot of insight into different paths I could follow and my mentors have been very helpful with explaining their own paths. A month into my internship, I can say that my knowledge of historical costuming is growing, my hand sewing skills and technical skills are improving, and I am gaining extremely valuable insight and projects for my portfolio.
